Science is something we couldn’t lose. It is only the source of true education. There have been various challenges to Science however it is still intact. In the past, the Scientists like Copernicus were challenged by the Christian Religion. His theory of Heliocentrism where the Sun was said to be the center of the Solar System was challenged because Christianity believed that Earth was the center of the Universe and God created man.
However, in India, there has always been great respect for Science. The books written hundreds of year ago has the word Vigyan in it. The direct translation of this word is Science. Today also there is great respect for the Science in India.
Science and Belief System
Science was there for a long time but after the religious ideas were getting challenged especially in the west. Science became more prominent. There have been various Scientists of Indian Origin at later times like Shri C V Raman and Satyendra Nath Bose. Interestingly, Higgs-Boson, also known as God Particle is named after Peter Higgs and Satyendra Nath Bose. He had worked with Albert Einstein too.
Wonders of Science started showing prominence. The transport system became faster due to the use of Technology. There are technologies like bullet trains that can run at very high speeds inland. They use an idea named magnetic levitation which makes the train move through the magnet.
There has been strong debate whether Science has been of only good. It certainly has its negative side also. There has been a problem with global warming and climate change due to its wrong use. Science may be beyond right and wrong but certainly, its use has been on the right side and wrong side. It has certainly helped human beings in many aspects but we also have to understand its negative side.
These days there is a belief system called Scientism where people think that Science is only the source of absolute knowledge. It has become prominent in Politics. This belief is merely an attempt to justify the wrongs which have been happened to Science. You have to understand that science is not made for any belief system.
Deep Science in day to day life of 21st century (for essay).
The main Aim of Science is to establish knowledge through continuous challenges. An idea becomes knowledge only when it is tested perfectly. However, there are many things which are not tested yet. Also, many things cannot be tested, for example, our consciousness. Human Intelligence and the Brain is so complex that it is tough to establish any knowledge system based on Science.
Why Science is important?
Science is filled with both good and bad but we cannot afford to lose it because of various reasons. First is the challenge and critics. There are a lot of questioning and answering processes before any new theory is being established. The Scientist working on any new theory must answer all the questions raised. The questions are being asked by prominent people having expertise in such areas.
However, there is also a wrong associated with this. Sometimes people who ask the questions intentionally put irrelevant questions proving their authority. This is a wrong practice and should end.
