Subhash Chandra Bose was an Indian freedom fighter and a great Indian nationalist. He is loved by almost everyone in the nation. Bose was also known by the name Netaji . He was born on 23rd January 1897 and soon he started his mission to free the India from the hands of Britishers. No doubt, he was one of the greatest revolutionaries of the India and the World. However, due to politics his contributions has been challenged.
Role of Bose in the Indian Independence
Subhash Chandra Bose started his journey through the Civil Disobedience Movement. Later on he became a member of Indian National Congress. In the year 1939 he became the party president of Indian National Congress. However, his thought process was different with that of Nehru and Gandhi so he had to resign from the Indian National Congress. He was a firm believer that Independence is a thing to be taken through fight.
For this attitude, Britishers did put him into house arrest for many times. However, he didn’t lose hope and continued his struggle against the British Raj. In 1941, he succeeded in going out of the home due to his intelligence. He went to Germany at first, where he met the Hitler. He wanted to take the Indian People who fought against the Hitler to fight for Indian Independence. They were the war prisoners of the Hitler. His appeal was so strong that Hitler was also convinced. However, Nehru and Gandhi were against the Bose’s ideology. They never appreciated his efforts.
Subhash Chandra Bose was a strong believer of Hindu Philosophy especially Bhagwat Gita. He was also strong supporter of Swami Vivekananda. He always took these Ideas in the positive direction.
In 1943 he went to Japan to seek help. Later on he formed an Independent Army, named Azad Hind Fauj or Indian National Army to fight against the Britishers.
The Indian National Army did attack on North East region of India. They were able to get back some of the parts. However, due to some policies of Japanese they had to surrender. However, Bose never surrendered. There is a story that Subhash Chandra Bose died on 18 August 1945, however there are controversies associated with his death.
Controversy Related to the Death of Subhash Chandra Bose.
It was said that he died in a plane crash at Taiwan however, the Government there confirmed that day there was no any plane crash. In fact that day no flight was seen in the sky. Later on many people claimed to have met him. This caused Indian Government to form different committees in different times, the earliest being Shah Nawaz Committee of 1956, Khosla Commission 1970, Mukherjee Commission 2005 etc. There is a strong resemblance of Bose with that of Gumnaami Baba. Their handwritings was similar. The mystery is still there are people have to proper research and question on it.
